At 2:30, the surgeon came into the waiting room. Stephanie is out of surgery.
He said that all things considered, it went very well. He said that she was a very healthy sick person.
Her heart was only stopped for about an hour and 10 minutes, and she didn’t require any additional assistance to restart her heart. She was on the heart/lung machine for about 3 hours, and she came off of it with no complications.
Now she is “drying up” with clotting agents.
Risks at this point are blood loss—bleeding should decrease, but they are watching her closely. Other risks are blood clots. If all goes well she should be off the ventilator by tomorrow morning.
Praise God!! What a wonderful answer to prayer at this moment. Will keep praying for all of you. You go, Stephanie!!! Joel, thanks for being willing to share this moment with us. Love you both!
Not to make Stephanie look bad or anything, but if she were Jack Bauer she already would have pulled out the ventilator and would be creeping around the hospital looking for a terrorist posing as a patient. I\’m just a little disappointed….
Praise God! We will continue to pray.
Joel, Thanks for sharing what God is doing in your lives. We serve such an awesome God. My husband and I are missionaries planting a church in Lithia Springs, GA and we are adding you folks to our prayer list for tonight. Our daughter, Betsy Logeman, requested prayer for you. God has recently brought me through a pretty serious bout with cancer leaving me with constant praise to Him and priceless lessons not even able to be purchase with visa:-) Isaiah 41:10 says, "Fear thou not for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God, I will strengthen thee, yea I will help thee, yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." God bless you both…continuing to pray…Barry and Debbie Gillis
